Timothy John Michael Adams

Senior SRE / DevOps Engineer · AI Sales Executive · AI Engineer

Seventeen-plus years keeping other people's infrastructure online. Army veteran. Ex-Google contractor. Now building and running four products of my own — solo, on GCP, cost-optimized end to end.

Open to remote roles — looking to be the engineer who moves the needle for the right team

01 // operator profile

Seventeen years on call. Now I'm the one I'm on call for.

My career started in Army intelligence systems maintenance, moved through Google's operations floor, and spent years building petabyte-scale geospatial pipelines at Novetta. Along the way I learned the same lesson in every environment: the infrastructure only matters if it stays up, and staying up is a discipline, not an accident.

Today I run that discipline on my own products. Four live GCP projects, one engineer on call, cost-optimized the same way I'd optimize a client's production bill — because it's my bill now.

04 // how this runs

How this site is built

Treated like a production service, not a static page: a manual-trigger build pipeline, a container that scales to zero, managed TLS, and observability sized to the actual traffic — not over-built for its own sake.

Deployment architecture for timothyadams.org deploy_cloudrun.sh triggers Cloud Build, which pushes an image to Artifact Registry. That image deploys to Cloud Run, which is mapped to the domain with a Google-managed TLS certificate, routed through DNS and Google's anycast edge to the visitor's browser. Cloud Logging and Cloud Monitoring observe the Cloud Run service on the side. deploy_cloudrun.sh local trigger · gcloud CLI Cloud Build builds image from Dockerfile Artifact Registry us-east1 · stores container image Cloud Run nginx:alpine · min-instances=0 scales to zero · pay-per-use Observability Cloud Logging & Cloud Monitoring Domain mapping Google-managed TLS certificate DNS (A/AAAA records) Google Front End · anycast edge Visitor browser https://timothyadams.org
